本中心對內整合本校現有生物多樣性相關研究的人力及資源，開設與全球變遷生物學相關之課程；對外整合不同領域的人才，強化與國內、外相關機構及研究者之合作，深入探討全球變遷對生物多樣性與生態的影響，希望透過跨領域研究，提出因應「全球變遷」問題的解決之道，包括災害防治、糧食安全、新興能源以及環境變遷的經濟、法律、社會與人文面向等；同時在教育方面扎根，以培育全球變遷生物學與永續科學人才為目標；並希望成為政府智庫，提供政府機構從事生物多樣性行動與永續發展之諮詢服務，在「全球變遷」問題方面發揮決策影響力，以對地球的永續發展盡一份心力。

The center integrates the existing faculty and resources for biodiversity research in the university, and offers courses related to the biology of global change.At the same time, it takes root in education and aims to cultivate talents in global change biology and sustainable science. and provides advisory services to government agencies engaged in biodiversity action and sustainable development. We will hopes to exert influence on global change decisions for sustainable development of the planet.
